Agen 28-24 Nissa
Agen 28 - 24 Nissa
Pro D2 · 8 · Friday, 23 October 2026
Match Report
Under the floodlights at Stade Armandie this Friday, the tension was palpable as Agen and Nissa locked horns in a bruising Pro D2 encounter. From the opening whistle, both sides traded heavy blows, with the hosts looking to impose their physicality early on against a spirited Nissa outfit that refused to be bullied. The momentum swung back and forth like a pendulum, characterized by punishing collisions and flashes of individual brilliance that kept the home crowd on the edge of their seats throughout a frantic first half.
The game reached its boiling point in the final quarter, as a moment of pure inspiration from the Agen fly-half broke the deadlock, slicing through the defensive line to set up a crucial try. Nissa responded with immense character, forcing turnovers and launching a desperate late surge that saw them camp inside the Agen twenty-two for the final minutes. The home defense stood firm under immense pressure, repelling wave after wave of attack until a final handling error from the visitors allowed Agen to breathe a collective sigh of relief as the clock expired.
This narrow victory serves as a vital psychological boost for Agen, confirming their status as a genuine threat in the promotion race, while Nissa will take solace in securing a hard-earned bonus point despite the heartbreak of defeat. For the home side, the win validates their commitment to a high-tempo game plan, but both coaching staffs will surely have plenty to analyze in the coming week. As the dust settles on this high-octane Friday night, the Pro D2 standings remain as tight as ever, promising an exhilarating journey for fans as the season enters its next phase.
